2006 Global Economic Development Conference, Atlanta, Georgia
An official delegation from the Dominican Republic attended the Global Economic Development Conference organized by the Atlanta Sister Cities Commission and CIFAL, from October 19th through the 21th, 2006. A Gala Dinner was hosted by Mayor Shirley Franklin at the Atlanta City Hall Atrium.
The Mayor of the City of Salcedo Juan Roque Jèrez, the Vice Mayor of the City of Santo Domingo, Alexandra Izquierdo, and the Deputy Secretary of Public Health of the Dominican Republic Emma Barba met with government officials and delegates from 12 nations who came to the City of Atlanta with the purpose of sharing best practices to promote businesses among our sister cities.
