The Dominican International Association and the Atlanta-Salcedo Sister Cities Committee celebrated the 166th Year of Dominican Independence at the Atlanta City Hall Atrium, on Saturday, February 27th, at 12pm.

For that special occasion, the Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall presented a proclamation to the Dominican community residing in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Florida, Manuel Almánzar attended the event as an honor guest and received a recognition for "his support and contributions to all Dominicans living in the United States".

People from different countries enjoyed a cocktail, music and authentic Dominican food prepared for this special ocassion.
