The Dominican International Association celebrated the 165th Year of Dominican Independence at the Atlanta City Hall. For that special occasion, Atlanta City Council Member Jim Maddox presented a proclamation to the Dominican community residing in the Atlanta metropolitan area for their contributions to the economic growth and well-being of the city. Mayor's Chief of Staff Greg Pridgeon congratulated the Dominican community of behalf of Mayor Shirley Franklin.
